Fire Prevention

10/07/11 Members of the bowmansville fire company again this year went to the Brecknock Elementary school to talk to the kids about fire prevention. Captain Mike Lehman and firefighters Josh Pfieffer, Nevin Weaver spent the day this year talking to the kids on fire safety and showing them engine 331.

Rescue Training

10/18/11 On tuesday evening training officer Leon Newswanger set up a mock training drill off oaklyn drive and we invited Rescue 1-3 (Denver) and ambulance 3-19 (fivepointville) to join in the drill. Leon simulated a accident where a jeep hit a farm tractor pulling a ammonia tank, with the tractor and the jeep flipping over. There was one victim under the tractor and two victims pinned in the jeep and the ammonia tank was leaking. With there being a accident call in east cocalico twp. the ambulance crew could not make it.

Vehicle Accident

11/16/11 At 16:12 hours station 3-3 was dispatched to a vehicle accident in the area of route 625 and Lauschtown rd. Deputy 3-3 (Good) responded along with engine 331, engine 332, squad 3-3 and ambulance 319-1 (fivepointville), ambulance 1-7 (reamstown) and a medic unit out of berks county. All three patients were transported and with some clean up all station 3-3 units went available around 17:30 hours.

Vehicle Accident Involving Fire

11/12/11 On saturday afternoon around 13:00 hours station 3-3 was dispatched to assist station 69 (Morgantown) on the PA Turnpike in the area of 293 west bound for a vehicle accident involving fire. Deputy 3-3 (Good) responded along with engine 331, engine 332, and all units entered the turnpike at bridge rd and went east bound in the west bound lane to the scene. Deputy 3-3 and engine 331 arrived first on the scene to a fully involved tractor trailer up against the jersey barrier. Engine 331 placed 2 - 1 3/4 lines in to service with foam with deputy 3-3 (Good) taking command and captain 332  (Lehman) taking operations and working with station 69 out of chester county, on the other side of the scene. Tankers 314 (fivepointville), tanker 3-4 (churchtown) also assisted on the scene. The last unit from statoin 3-3 cleared the scene around 17:30 hours.

Working Structure Fire

12/06/11 Station 3-3 was dispatched to assist berks station 72 (brecknock) with a working out building in the area of penn sylvan dr. Deputy 3-3 (good) and engine 331, engine332  responded and were advised there was a working shed fire next to another structure. Station 72 and engine 331 went into service with a single 1 3/4 and the fire was knocked out.

Vehicle Accident

1/21/12 Station 3-3 was dispatched at  1:22 hours for a reported vehicle accident with vehicle into a house on douglas dr. in the area of the dead end. Deputy 3-3 (Good) arrived and reported one car that came off the PA Turnpike and went into the rear of the home on douglas dr. Engine 3-3-1, engine 3-3-2 , ambulance 319-1 (fivepointville) responded along with chief 3-3 (Musser) who took command. Deputy 3-3 reported the driver left the scene so 3-3 crews worked on assessing the structure and utilities. Command requested Berks county station 85 (spring) for their collapse team to shore up the home. After an extensive time on location all units went available around 5:15 hours.
